Candace Browne. Co-ordinator of the Food Hub.
I coordinate the customer orders and local producers, along with supporting the volunteers at the Llandeilo Station Hub every Friday. With a background in Environmental Biology and Welsh Agri-Environment Schemes, I am also studying a MSc in Human Nutrition with a special interest in gut health. Real food, small-scale family farming and sustainable diets are a real passion for me!
James Scrivens. Founder of the Food Hub.
I am mushroom grower here in the Tywi area and believe in food sovereignty as a way to solve many of the current socio-political and environmental problems that we face today. The food hub model is a great way of working towards this goal. My job with the food hub is to deal with the Patch Work Farm, deliver the fresh produce to our local customers and manage the wholefood stock.
Sara Tommerup. PR and fundraising.
I have a broad background in sustainable development and tackling the food and farming crisis (yes it is here) is a part of developing a healthier society. I do lot of promotional work for the food hub, such as marketing and blogging as well as helping with the nuts and bolts of the running of the venture by providing my building, writing and creative skills.
Cathy Pearce. Volunteer.
I volunteer with the Food Hub and support Candace with many of her tasks involved with coordinating the Food Hub and with packing orders every Friday. My background is in IT, and so I am able to support the team and our customers with our online shop and website. I also help with marketing -writing the weekly newsletter and promoting the hub through social media.
